Experience with Dochelle
From the Bride:
What more can I say than the whole experience form beginning to
end was just wonderful. Dorothy is an absolute gem of a lady and
made the entire experience of choosing invitations a memory
never to be forgotten. She was at all times a professional
individual and always listened to your needs nothing was too
much trouble for her at anytime. My husband is in the Australian
Army and our wedding date changed six times due to Jake being
deployed to Iraq on tow occasions and my two brothers to
Afghanistan. This made it quite difficult for all of us.

Dorothy made sure when we had to change the date for a 5th time
that the invitations were sent to us n time to deliver to our
guests as we were going to the USA for 5 weeks. Originally this
was our honeymoon but due to Jake’s Army commitments we had to
have the honeymoon before we were married as we were unable to
receive a refund on the trip. It was so funny now when I look
back as when we were in the USA we had to change the date for a
6th time as my two brothers were then deployed to Afghanistan.
Here we were trying to change all the venues etc while we were
on our so called honeymoon.
Dochelle Custom Creations in my opinion is the most professional
company that I have ever had to deal with and being so far away
I was a little nervous in choosing you to make my invitations,
but can I say that the nerves soon dissipated. I have and will
continue to recommend you to people here in Australia.
From the Mother of the Bride:
I had the first contact with Dorothy and Dochelle creations and
again reiterate how wonderful the experience was from beginning
to end. I wanted my daughter’s day to be a day to remember from
the Invitations right through to the puling of the wedding
charms for her bridesmaids. We were so lucky to have met
Dorothy, her husband and her gorgeous little boy whilst we had
10 days in New York. We fell in Love with the people and the
place and will at some stage return for sure. I have 3 sons whom
have yet to marry Dochelle will be the choice of Invitations.
When the invitations were sent out, most though we hand
delivered the response that we received was nothing short of
pure exhilaration to see such exquisite invitations. Most people
told me that they have never ever seen invitations like them
before. The invitations were fit for a princess and that was the
start of a princesses wedding.
Our love story
Jake and I first met through a family friend who suggested Jake,
myself and he and his date all go to the movies. At this stage I
was quite young (17) and was not really interested in a
relationship so as much as I would hate to admit now, I was not
very interested at the time. When I got home from the date I
told my mum how the date did not go so well and that I was
probably a little rude to Jake. Mum was upset that I was a
little rude to Jake and so the next day she made me call him and
apologize. From that moment on we formed a wonderful friendship
that lasted for about 3 years before we decided to enter
into a relationship.
Jake joined the army about two and half years after we met.
During his time a way I began to realize just how much I missed
him and so once his training had ended we were lucky that he
actually was reposted back to our home town. It was at this time
that I decided to tell him just how I really felt and was lucky
that he felt the same way too. And it was from this point that
our relationship blossomed.
Our Engagement
On Christmas Day 2004 Jake proposed to me at my parent’s house,
with the inscription of “will you marry me?” painted in purple
paint on our living room wall. This was a very special moment
for me as it was only about two months until Jake would deploy
to Iraq and I felt that I now had a piece of his heart to hold
dear to me until he would return.
So the wedding plans had begun and we set a date in September
2006, however this was not to be.
Jake would be deployed to Iraq again and our two brothers were
deployed to Afghanistan. In total we had to change our wedding
date seven times before finally on the 3rd of March 2007 we were
married. The only unfortunate event was that we had already
booked our six week honeymoon to the United States and could not
change our booking so we went on our honeymoon in December,
before our wedding day.
Our wedding day
From the Bride:
My wedding day was a day that I will never ever forget, Jake was
finally home after returning in the previous November, from his
duty in Iraq and we could finally be married, something we had
waited so long for. Our day was filled with wonderful memories
including the moment when my mother sang at our wedding
reception. She sang a song that she had specially recorded just
for me that was a moment that I will never forget, as we have a
very special bond.
From the Mother of the Bride:
Her dress was imported from the USA by Sugar and Spice Bridal, a
Justin Alexander Gown which was custom made for her with a 3
meter train all hand beaded with Swarovski crystals. The bodice
was encrusted with crystals with inlaid Chantilly lace on the
bottom of the gown which was silver. Her veil was a 3 tier
Cathedral length with each tier also encrusted with Swarovski
Crystals and edged with tear drop crystals. Her tiara was also
purchased in the USA and fit for a princess. She had 6
bridesmaids all who wore ball gowns with the bodice encrusted
with crystals. Two flower girls and a page boy. Oh it looked
sensational. Her cake was made by Sweetums a very well known
cake decorator her in Australia his work is sensational. It was
a 7 tier cake with a hand made lace to cover the tiers and on
top sat a hand made Faberge Egg. She floated like a princess
down the Isle of one of Brisbane’s most historic Cathedral
Churches.
Jake was married in his uniform and the boys wore English
morning suits. When they walked down the isle the bagpipers were
playing outside. The reception was a hit lots of different
things added to the finishing touches of a princess’s wedding. I
purchased most everything in the USA for the reception right
down to the Victorian wedding cake charms they were a hit! My
gown came form the USA as well. Man do we love your country. The
female guest each had a pretty pink bust with a tulle skirt and
a breast cancer awareness phone charm this sat on a crystal
candle plate. When they received their invites I requested that
they send back to me a family recipe then had all the recopies
printed in a book form with Danielle and Jakes wedding guest
recopies as a memento for them to keep. They loved this. The men
each received a Steele puzzle lock which was suspended on a
wooden frame inside a clear display box. Each guest also
received two hand made chocolates which sat a in a small silver
box on top of a hand embroidered napkin with the couples
initials on in pink with a crystal ring around the top of the
napkin.
The highlight of the reception was when I sang to my daughter
whilst she danced with he father. I sang a song called my
Daughter My Bride. I must say that I bought the house down to
tears. I was very nervous but I am glad that I did it. The table
centerpieces were 70cm tall and 2 white Singapore orchids which
were plunged into gel that was lit up with lights. The lights in
the vases just made the whole room glow when the lights were
dimmed. The cascading flowers from the top of the 70 cm vases
were in pinks. This sat on a large encrusted crystal plate with
tea lights around the outside. When the happy couple entered the
room they walked through a fresh flower arch with lights through
the flowers and 4 confetti cannons went off as they passed
through. Their bridal table had a 2 meter fresh flower
arrangement with lights twisted through the flowers. Two vases
sat at each end of the table.
Everything went off so perfectly. I wanted to share this with
you as I feel that as much as you see a photo at times it
doesn’t tell a story. Dochelle THANK YOU! You certainly added to
this perfect day. I look forward to doing more business with you
in the future. |
