Experience with Dochelle
Jason and I wanted to create a wedding that would be like no
other. We wanted our wedding to be an event that our guest would
remember for a life time. As we started looking for our wedding
invitations I came across the website for Dochelle Custom
Creations. I loved how unique each design was. I knew that
nothing else we looked at compared to what I saw on this
website. When our invitations arrived I loved them so much I
cried. I couldn’t wait to send them out to get the reaction from
all our guests. One by one the phone calls came in with
amazement at how beautiful our invitations were. No one had seen
anything like it. Our guests are still talking about our
invitations.

How we met
A mutual friend sent Jason over to my store to check me out;
without my knowledge. Jason visited the store a number of times
before he asked me out to lunch. I was hesitant but said yes and
at the last minute I got cold feet and made excuses that I had a
bunch of errands that I needed to finish and maybe we should get
together another time. Jason was very persistent and made it
impossible for me to back out. He actually taxied me all over
town so I could take care of all my business. Not only did we
have lunch that day but we enjoyed dinner together as well.
Jason and I parted after dinner as he had a two hour drive back
to his home. The funny thing is that he ended up driving two and
a half hours in the opposite direction before he realized that
he was going the wrong way. And instead of having to drive two
hours home he ended up driving almost five hours to get home.
Our Engagement
Jason proposed to me in the most amazing way - It was a total
surprise and a dream comes true!
I planned to take Jason out to dinner on his 24th Birthday to a
restaurant that I happen to love which Jason had never been to
and was very skeptical about. The Melting Pot is a fondue
restaurant that I have been to in other cities. It was just
introduced to our city in Naples, Florida and was difficult to
get into because it was so new. So I made reservations two
months in advance to ensure we would have a fun place to go to
for Jason’s Birthday.
Jason insisted he wanted to stay home that night. So needless to
say the night started out rocky. I convinced Jason that he would
have a great time and he would love the experience. We ordered
dinner and a bottle of wine and the night was very ordinary just
like any other; until the owner of the restaurant came to our
table with a box the size of a shoe box. It was wrapped with
birthday gift wrap. He handed the box to Jason and said “Happy
Birthday” I thought it was just the nicest thing, that they
would actually have a gift for Jason’s birthday. Jason took the
box, said thank you and placed it on the table next to me. I
asked him if he was going to open it. (I knew it couldn’t have
been much – maybe a box of spices or a small fondue kit. He
refused to open the box and said he would open it later. Being
the nosy person I am, I insisted he open it. He just refused. He
made me so mad because he was just being difficult all night. So
I took the box - as he knew I would and I opened it. Inside was
a long mahogany box with a little window cut in the top of it–
It looked like a photo box with a place for a photo on the top.
I looked at Jason and said “wow this is a really nice gift from
a restaurant.”
Jason said to me “what is it?”
I replied “a photo box”
He said “oh” and continued eating.
I opened the long box and found another small box in side with a
window on the top of it. I looked at Jason and said “I think
they gave you the wrong gift!”
He started laughing and took the box and opened the small ring
box and said “I love you so much and I love your family will you
marry me!!!!”
I almost died! For the first time in my whole life I didn’t have
a clue what was going on. I am a pretty savvy person and I
usually know when something is off or different. I really didn’t
expect it or have any idea that he had planned to propose to me
- not to mention on his birthday!
The ring is the most stunning ring I've seen. I usually don’t
like surprises but I have to say this was the best surprise in
the whole world!
Our wedding day
That night Jason asked me if I wanted to plan our wedding on the
Amalfi Coast of Italy; of course I said yes but I never dreamed
that we would really get married in Italy…
On September 28, 2007 Jason and I exchanged our wedding vows
with 30 of our closest friends and family who all traveled from
the states to join us in Italy. Our Ceremony took place at the
Doumo of Ravello and our Reception was held at the historic
Villa Cimbrone. I planned a live performance with artists from
the UK. (As a surprise for Jason and our guests) A white
chocolate fountain was delivered from London with the finest
Belgian Chocolate. We had strolling musicians escort our guest
to the cocktail hour in the gardens of Villa Cimbrone. Dinner
and Dancing were held in the Grottos of the Villa. Our musicians
traveled from their home town of Sicily to sing at our ceremony
and our reception. |
